Construction and DS Builders Riptide rip San Jose Broncos.
GILROY – Don’s Vending Brakettes got back to their winning ways Saturday with a 20-4 Gilroy Little League Girls Minors victory over the Solis Winery Heat. The Brakettes were led by Fiona McFarland’s two doubles, along with Jel Reyes, Cynthia DelReal, and Caitie Hathaway, who all scored three runs. Reyes and Maria Sandoval combined to turn in another strong pitching performance for the Brakettes.

The Heat were led by Rachel Reimal, who supplied the team’s only hit. Stephanie Amstrutz, Rebecca Reimal, Rachel Reimal and Analise Vaden all scored runs.

Torres Construction and DS Builders Riptide took to the road to defeat the San Jose Broncos 18-4 Saturday in GLL Girls Majors play.

The Riptide had a season-high 12 hits and were led by Brianna Barron’s four hits and Sol Mendez-Alvarado’s three runs scored. Alli Hathaway recorded 12 strikeouts in five innings to keep the Broncos off balance all game.

“The girls have been working hard on their hitting and it really showed today,” Riptide coach Glen Irby said. “We hope to continue to improve during the second half of the season.”
