Catholic Charities is offering free tax preparation services and financial education services to those with an annual income of $49,000 or less. The services are available from noon to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays through April 13 at Serra Cottage, 7980 Church St, Gilroy, and from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays by appointment only at the El Toro Youth Center, 17620 Crest Ave. Morgan Hill. Call 779-0602 to make an appointment. There is no citizenship requirement. If you are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit, you could receive $457 to $5,666. Bring a photo ID, all W-2s and 1099s (if any), bank account and routing number if you would like direct deposit, Social Security Card or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number letter for all family members and a copy of 2009 tax return (if available).
