California Silk Screening squeaked past the Las Animas Sweepers 13-11 in the third and final game of the Men’s C League’s best 2-of-3 Championship Series Wednesday.
Jim Hernandez went 4-for-4 and scored four runs for California Silk Screening. Mark Terrill went 4-for-4 with three RBI.
Brian Cortez plated three Las Animas Sweeper runs with a triple and two doubles. Cameron Bautista, Donny Gooding and Joe Lovecchio each collected three hits for Las Animas Sweepers.
Men’s CCC
Blackout Window Tinting edged past the Hit Men 11-9 to earn the Men’s CCC League series 2-1 Wednesday at Las Animas.
Eric Keen paced Blackout with two doubles and a single, driving in two runs. Gary Barboa went 3-for-4 and Jason Corral homered for the Window Tinters.
Albert Sanchez hit two home runs and David Carroll lined two RBI-singles for the Hit Men.
Men’s D
Gilroy – South Valley Plumbing-Elam Trucking rallied from a 7-0 deficit to defeat Rosso’s Rebels 14-9 Thursday in the finale of the best 2-of-3 Men’s D League Championship Series at Las Animas Park.
The Rebels used a three-run home run by Jaime Rosso in the first inning and four unearned runs in the second frame to grab a 7-0 lead.
While the Rebels went scoreless in the following three innings, South Valley Plumbing-Elam erupted for 12 runs by the end of the fourth inning. Nestor Perez keyed a five-run second with a two-run single. Dave Lujan laced a two-out, two-run single in a three-run third for the Plumbers-Truckers. Randy Evanger powered a three-run home run with two out in the Plumber-Trucker fourth.
Dan Cordova paced the Rosso’s Rebels offense with two hits. Perez took batting honors for the winners with a 3-for-3 showing.
Co-Rec C
Cary O’Neal Roofingused an 11-run second inning to take a 22-16 win over Dee’z Nutz & Cherriez in the final game of the Co-Rec C series Wednesday at Las Animas.
Lori Dixon and Ray Garcia each cracked two hits as the Roofers scored 11 runs in the second for a 16-8 lead. Mark Terrill contributed a grand slam and a three-run home run for the Roofers, Jim Sands a homer in a 4-for-4 effort.
Guillermo Gamboa clubbed a pair of two-run doubles and Rich Chavez netted a double and two singles for Dee’z Nutz & Cherriez.
