Realtor of the Year for 2008 by the South County Realtors
Association.
Lisa Cassara, a highly regarded sales associate with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Gilroy office, has been named Realtor of the Year for 2008 by the South County Realtors Association.
Cassara was honored for her professional accomplishments as well as her extensive work with non-profits in the community. Among other things, the organization cited her support of Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots, CanTree, which raises food and money for needy families, and One Warm Coat, which collects coats for the less fortunate during the holidays.
The award, which was voted on by members of the association, was presented to Cassara at the group’s inaugural ball at the Coyote Creek Golf Course earlier this month.
“This award recognizes Realtors who epitomize professionalism, integrity and community service, and I can’t think of a better winner than Lisa,” said Joe Brown, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Silicon Valley. “Lisa exemplifies what this award is all about. She is a consummate professional and truly deserving of this award.”
Chris Ordaz, manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Gilroy office, said he is thrilled for Cassara. “I am extremely proud of Lisa and this special achievement,” he said. “She is a well-known leader in the industry and in the community, and an important member of our team in the Gilroy office. Cassara said she was surprised and excited to receive the award. “I didn’t have any idea that I was actually in the running,” she said. “When they announced my name, I was speechless. It was the first time in my life that I was speechless. It’s a tremendous honor and I feel very privileged to have received this recognition.”
Cassara has been in real estate for five years, all with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. In addition, she has been involved in marketing, interior design and customer service for more than 25 years.
Besides working with a variety of community organizations, Cassara has also been actively involved with professional associations, including serving as vice president of the South County Realtors Association for 2009. In addition, she is an active member of the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, and National Association of Realtors.
A resident of Gilroy, Cassara has lived in South County for more than 30 years. She graduated from San Jose State University, where she received her degree in marketing. She also holds a Graduate Real Estate Institute credential and is a certified short sale specialist.
