Gilroy – Chicks N’ Sticks turned a 17-run third inning into a 24-11 victory over Feather Haven Mill in a key Co-Rec B League contest Wednesday at Las Animas Park.

Dave DeCarlo smacked a single and double, driving in two runs as Feather Haven Mill built a 10-0 lead by the third inning. Chicks N’ Sticks countered with 17 markers in the third, sparked by a grand slam and two-run poke off the bat of Benny Sanchez.

Vicki Velasquez keyed the Sticks offense with a 4-for-5 effort. Natalie Torres singled and tripled for the Haven, while Brett Scott scored three runs.

California Chop Shop is 1-1 after a 14-6 nod over Team Hair FX.

Sean Subia launched three consecutive home runs to lead the Chop Shop assault. Guillermo Gamboa stroked five hits and Alicia Hernandez went 4-for-6 for the winners. Gilbert Ramirez lined a two-run home run and George Smith and Jerry Johnston each managed a single and double for Team Hair FX, the first-half C champion.

Frame Your Family In Eyewear trimmed State Farm Insurance Big Kahunas 9-8 Wednesday at Christmas Hill Park to move to 2-0 atop the six-team Co-Rec C League.

The Framers erased a 5-1 Kahunas edge in the fourth inning with a six-run uprising. Vanessa Gomez, John Ceballos and Nicole Villarreal poked consecutive RBI-singles. Ceballos and Luis Fumagalli each contributed three hits to the Framer attack. Shawn Cronk unloaded four hits for the Kahunas, Rudi Groppe a triple and two doubles.

Ball Hoggs used an eight-run third inning on the way to a 13-4 nod over the South County Hammers. Brian Moreno hit a triple and home run for the 2-0 Hoggs. The Hammers pushed across four unearned runs in the seventh, highlighted by a Maggie Perez line single to right.

Spirit of MH defeated the Ballers 6-5 behind a single, double and triple from Buck Johnson. Debbie Cupp, Ryan Souza and Jason Brindle each bagged two hits for the Ballers.
