GILROY – Hosting its first home dual meet, the CHS varsity wrestling team beat Seaside 43-21 on Monday night.
The Cougars beat Seaside, a Monterey Bay League opponent, last month. This time around, the meet counted as a non-league match, head coach Alexcis Lara said.
“Overall the team wrestled really strong,” he said. “Big improvement since our dual meet December 9th. Last time we lost seven matches this time we only lost three.”
The Cougars host their first official league match on Wednesday against Watsonville.
