Gilroy – In honor of the contributions of its members, the Community Media Access Partnership (CMAP) will hold its 2nd Annual Membership Awards & Recognition Celebration at the GavTV Studio on the campus of Gavilan Community College, Thursday Oct. 21, 2004.

Producers, talent, crew members, students and volunteers will be among the honorees for their roles in creating community-based television shows. CMAP’s staff also also will honor two top notch individuals with the Producer of the Year and Volunteer of the Year Awards. Past productions have included public affairs issues, local artists and musicians, community education and outreach, religion and spirituality, and live community events. Highlights from such programs as the Hollister Independence Rally, Garlic Festival, Give Your Walls Some Soul, Life Changing Word, Mr. Toad’s Big Adventure, South Valley Sounds, Gilroy Alumni Project, In Focus, How to with Cast & Crew, Sakabozzo, Cooking for All Seasons, and many other programs, will be shown.

The ceremonies will also be carried live over the Public Access Channel 20, operated by CMAP on the Charter Communications cable system.

CMAP is a non-profit community media organization serving the communities of Gilroy, Hollister, and San Juan Bautista. Located on the Gavilan Community College campus, CMAP operates four cable television channels and an Institutional Network for public, educational, and governmental access programming.

Equipment, training, production services and programming are available to individuals, organizations, and student members.
