“Barn Again,” a new blog highlighting South County barns and farm buildings, will launch soon at gilroydispatch.com. Born out of a sense that locals are losing touch with agricultural heritage, the blog will document the beauty of older structures—even those that have been lost to the passing of time—as well as share stories of people in the community who own and preserve these treasures.
Phill Laursen, who will author the blog, asks readers for suggestions about barns and buildings to feature, as well as photos of past and present barns.
Laursen recently completed a booklet about the prune box collection of local man Al Gagliardi (soon on sale at the Gilroy Museum at Church and Fifth streets).
To participate, contact Phill at (408) 847-1823 or email him at ph******@gm***.com.
