We take a look at the stories that are coming to the web and in
the paper. This week: we look at the school district’s construction
projects and helping girls get active through a free after-school
program.
1. Christopher High School construction update

With a topping ceremony on Oct. 23, we check in on Christopher High School. We examine how staff selection will work and what programs, classes and sports will be offered in the inaugural year.

2. Fit for a girl

The Bay Area Women’s Sport Initiative is bringing its program to Eliot and Glen View elementary schools in hopes to encourage healthy and active lifestyles girls. The nonprofit operates eight-week after-school free camps that get kids outside and teach them health lessons. Mothers are encouraged to come and many local athletes, such as the Gavilan College softball team, help run the sessions. The initial response has been promising, with more than 100 girls signed up at Glen View.
