We take a look at the stories that are coming to the web and in
the paper. This week: In cold blood and Making inroads against
domestic violence.
1. In cold blood
A Gilroy couple tells the story of how their son’s ex-girlfriend brutally murdered their son and grandson and why it has given them cause to fight for bail reform in Canada.
2. Making inroads against domestic violence
Community Solutions – a nonprofit working for victims’ rights and awareness of violence against women for more than 30 years – celebrates two people who have been fighting for the rights of domestic violence survivors and creating awareness of the ongoing problem. Morgan Hill Police Department Commander David Swing, a Hollister resident, and Community Solutions survivor advocate Debbie Ruiz, a Gilroy native who works in the nonprofit’s Gilroy office and who is a domestic violence survivor herself, will be honored at a luncheon March 27.
