Gallaria Hair Studio held a competition for participants in its Extreme Make Over. Entry forms were placed throughout Gilroy at the offices of Dr. Patti Marouda and Dr. AJ Mathews, Tanning Works and Slender Lady. Applicants were asked to enter their names and addresses as well as their age group. Age groups included 18 to 25, 26 to 36 and 37 to 45 plus. Each finalist had to be open to a new hair cut, new color and new style. Interviews were given to three finalists from each age group, and the hair studio chose three applicants from more than 180 entries. One person from each age group was chosen for the Extreme Makeover. Each stylist teamed up with another to create a new look for the client, each of whom received $500 of service and products. Hair services were done by Dora Fortino, Jennifer Franco, Luz Neander, Yolanda Burns and Trish Haro, and nail services were done by Alicia Cordero. Fortino, Cordero and Burns also provided make-up services to the clients. Each client was given one week’s worth of tanning.
