Dear Editor,
I am very disappointed in our City Council’s decision to pamper our most spoiled citizens here in Gilroy. When Eagle Ridge was built, they stated very clearly they did not want or require Gilroy police to drive onto their sacred grounds and upset the “privacy” of their elite homeowners.
The reasoning behind this was that they had their own private security and the homeowners already paid for this service by paying into the homeowner’s association. Why is it now OK to take police off of our city streets and have them drive through what is suppose to be secured by private security? Why do I have to pay for this?
I am a homeowner in Gilroy and if I call the police I hope they get here in less than an hour. Sometimes it takes longer. Eagle Ridge wanted to be elite, let them deal with their own problems!
