Dear Editor,
I am writing in response to the article “Bad” Block of Four, published in the Gilroy Dispatch on Oct. 18.
In reading the article and the responses from councilmembers Bob Dillon, Craig Gartman and Russ Valiquette about their meetings at Jeffrey’s Café on the outskirts of town, I feel very strongly that if these three gentlemen all agree that what they are doing is above board and beyond reproach by having coffee and talking about issues, then why not meet in a more openly public venue such as the Alter Ego Cafe for their talks? That way all of us that enjoy breakfast there – where we meet friends and talk about the happenings in town – can include them in the discussions.
If these gentleman want to know how the community feels on issues then they need to be part of that community and not cloister themselves away in a back room.
If there is nothing to hide, then be up front.
