GILROY – South Valley Disposal rallied past Crunch Time 53-47 Wednesday to remain unbeaten in second-half play in the Men’s Basketball League at Solorsano Gymnasium.

Donnie Gooding struck for 12 of his game-high 18 points in the second half as South Valley Disposal (3-0) erased a 22-16 intermission deficit.

Disposal’s victory sets up a showdown Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 9 p.m. between Disposal and Valerie Smith Intero (3-0).

Robert Rodriguez and Mike Kachel each popped in nine points to aid the Disposal offense. Crunch Time (1-2) countered with 14 points from Bill Klauer, 12 from Tucker Baksa and 10 from Anthony Bravo.

Valerie Smith Intero, the defending league champion, stopped Hard Ninety 48-39 behind Kevin Steele’s four three-point field goals. Steele went for 16 points, Albert Angulo 10 and Mark Cisneros nine for the Realtors. Roger Hernandez and Rick Hattaway each generated 13 points. Joe Wortham scored 10 for Hard Ninety.

GC Farms moved into third place at 2-1 by defeating the Gilroy Bulls 45-32.

Cliff Dennett powered to 18 points, Daniel Crowe nine, Michael Yoshida and Chris Locsin eight apiece for the Farmers. Christopher Bibbaeff and Hector Salgado each managed 10 points for the Bulls (1-2).
