Men’s BB
Gilroy – Czar Construction upset the Good Fellas 9-8 Tuesday to move into a tie for first place in the Men’s BB League at Christmas Hill Park.
The Good Fellas (1-2) claimed an 8-7 lead with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Rob Flores singled and scored on an error. Ray Rojas followed with an RBI-single.
Mario Bena and Bobby Reggiani each singled to open the Czar seventh, moving up one base apiece on an infield grounder. Rico Lopez plated both runners with a single.
Benny Sanchez homered and doubled for 3-1 Czar Construction. Lopez and Reggiani each netted three hits. Flores went 4-for-5 for the Good Fellas.
DLM Electric joined Czar at 3-1 with an 18-11 decision over Kline’s Plumbing.
Louie Catano and Jose Mendoza each hit a two-run single as DLM struck for eight runs in the top of the first inning. Steve Arriaga went 4-for-4 with a home run for the Electricians. Paul Garcia added a double and triple. Josh Torres homered and Dave Arrioto and Duffy Kline each produced three hits for Kline’s Plumbing.
Rich Rodriquez went 3-for-3 and Richie Rodriquez stroked a two-run triple to help 2-2 Craig Avila Bail Bonds past Bad News 10-3. Mike Catangay went 3-for-3 and Daniel Salinas scored two runs for Bad News (2-1).
Men’s D
Rosso’s Rebels shocked previously unbeaten Team Hair FX 19-4 Tuesday in Men’s D League play at Gavilan Sports Park.
Jaime Rosso led the Rebels surge, blasting a three-run home run, double and single for the 2-1 winners. Alex Pena went 3-for-3 with three RBI and Zeke Lopez went 3-for-4 for Rosso’s. Brett Faust went 2-for-3 and scored one run for 3-1 Team Hair FX.
The Bomb Squad eased past Ellite Barbers 19-4 as Dave Espinoza hit two home runs in a 10-run sixth inning. Addison Quach and Andy Gutierrez each went 4-for-4 and George Espinoza went 3-for-4 with three RBI for the Bomb Squad. Anthony Lucio drove in two runs for Ellite Barbers.
Dave Keim doubled and tripled in an eight-run fourth inning as Dr. Tile stopped Dan Keith Septics 19-14.
Keim went 5-for-5, Bruce Hanna and John Robinson each 4-for-5 for Dr. Tile. Dan Keith Septics pushed across 10 runs in the second inning, keyed by two RBI-singles from Dan Keith. Eddie Flores and Rudy Hernandez each went 3-for-3 for Dan Keith Septics.
