San Jose – A minor earthquake registering 3.2 on the Richter scale jolted Morgan Hill early Thursday morning but caused no reported damage or injuries.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake occurred at 1:18am about nine miles north of Morgan Hill and at a depth of four miles on the Calaveras Fault, that runs from Hollister to north of Fremont in Alameda County. There were no reports of damage.

Live, study and learn in Spain this summer

Gilroy – Gavilan College students are encouraged to apply to the summer study program in Malaga, Spain. Students will live with a local family during the four-week program while learning Spanish in both classroom and cultural settings. All students are welcome regardless of Spanish-language skills. Transferable college credit will be granted for successful completion of the program. Family members may enroll together, and children may accompany parents.

Dates, costs and more information will be presented at an orientation and informational session at 9:15am Feb. 26 at Gavilan’s main campus, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., in room 105 of the humanities building.

Chance to enhance retail skills

Gilroy – Would you like to enhance your retail skills? Workshops are currently being offered. In this eight-hour workshop participants will learn the basics needed to work in retail. Customer service, cash register operation and cash handling, dealing with difficult customers, work attitudes and ethics and more. Certificates will be presented upon completion of the workshop.

This workshop will be held on Saturday, from 8am to 5pm.

Toy train show and swap meet slated

San Juan Bautista – The fourth annual “Toy Train Show And Swap Meet” will be held on Sunday, Feb. 27, from 10am to 3pm at San Juan Bautista Elementary School, 100 Nyland Drive in San Juan Bautista. Vendor tables are available for $20 each or two for $30.
