– The youths at First Baptist Church of Gilroy are making a
stand for hunger. They will go 30 hours without food on Friday and
Saturday, May 7 and 8, to spread the word about hunger and
disease.

GILROY – The youths at First Baptist Church of Gilroy are making a stand for hunger. They will go 30 hours without food on Friday and Saturday, May 7 and 8, to spread the word about hunger and disease.

They will join with thousands of other youths around the world to raise money for World Vision to provide food and sources of income to starving families.

The youth of First Baptist Church have meetings every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Race for a cure

GILROY – Gilroy’s “Race For A Cure – 10K Race and 5K Race/Fun Walk” will be held Saturday, May 15, at Christmas Hill Park’s Ranch Site.

Proceeds from event will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Gilroy Relay For Life.

GILROY – A Mother’s Day Breakfast will be held at Gilroy Elks Lodge from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 9. Adults are $10 and children are $5 per person.

GILROY – The I.F.D.E.S. Portuguese Lodge will hold Holy Ghost Festival Rosary prayers in their Chapel at 8 p.m., May 9 through 14.
