Police respond to
El Roble school bus
GILROY
– On edge from the firing of a pellet gun just hours earlier at
Gilroy High School, district officials wasted no time Wednesday
afternoon calling for police backup at El Roble Elementary School,
after a bus driver reported that two male students were using
scissors to threaten a female classmate.
Around 3 p.m. a school bus driver called Officer Mike Terasaki
to the 930 Third St. campus after he saw the boys jabbing scissors
at their victim. The boys, who are minors, were pretending to use
the scissors as a weapon, but did not attempt to physically harm
the girl, Terasaki said.
No arrests were made, but the scissors were confiscated from the
boys and returned to the school by Terasaki.

This is a case of kids getting a little aggressive with
something that can be used as a weapon. The girl was feeling
threatened,

said Terasaki, who handles the school beat for the Gilroy Police
Department.

Hopefully this can be handled with the parents and the school.
It may result in a suspension, but that’s the school’s call,

said Terasaki.
