Dear Editor,
Here in Gilroy we have a dirty little community secret. Owing to the nature of the secret, it seems our community leadership has taken the position to let it remain in the murkiness of distant places.
This dirty little secret is not limited to any neighborhood or social economic fabric of our community. Either personally or via friends and acquaints this abhorrent condition has been witnessed here in Gilroy. Note the problem can be found in locales of Santa Teresa Boulevard, all the parks, some of the schools, Miller Avenue, 10th Street, Monterey Street, the outlets, Victoria Drive, Welburn Avenue, Westwood Drive, Church Street, Senior Center, First Street, Murray Avenue …
As a community we need our leadership to develop a plan for the eradication of this virulent pestilence that has invaded our neighborhoods.
Yes, we need our civic leadership to step forward and be the Pied Piper and rid our neighborhoods of the dirty little secret, an over population of sewer rats, roof rats and brown rats. All of these are the Norway Rat which is known for their destructive, disease, flea-carrying and defecating nature.
What are the leaders of Gilroy going to do about ridding the city of this problem?
Chuck Wear, Gilroy
