Donald Craig Raney February 12, 1915 – October 24, 2013

Services have been held.
 Donald Raney passed away at his home in Ventura, CA at age 98 surrounded by his wife Barbara of 71 years and their three children.
 He was born in North Dakota at Drayton Township and moved with his family to Morgan Hill in 1918.
 He attended local schools, graduating from Live Oak High School in 1933. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from San Jose State and a Master’s degree in chemistry from Stanford University one year later on year later.
 His teaching career was interrupted by WWII and after Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the Navy, where he was sent to take navigation classes at the Midshipmen’s School at Columbia University, He then spent two and a half years teaching navigation to the Midshipmen’s School at Columbia University.
 After a tour in Guam, Donald was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1945. He then returned to California where he taught chemistry in several colleges and universities and retired after 32 years.
 In retirement, Don volunteered with Wycliffe (SLI) a Bible translating ministry, spending time in Papua, New Guinea, and returning home to spend six more years assisting in chemistry labs at Westmont College in Santa Barbara.
 Surviving Don, is his wife Barbara, their three children, Linda Ann (Bill) Lindberg of Santa Barbara, Cynthia Margaret (Norman) Kramer of Santa Rosa, CA, and David Craig (Pamela) Raney of Fox Island, WA, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
