Don't Rush to Flush

Gilroy Police officer Bobby Zuniga demonstrates the new “Don’t Rush to Flush” bin at the Gilroy Police Department (7301 Hanna St.). The bin was established as part of a $276,000 dollar grant funded project to place and promote 50 bins around the county to ensure that prescription drugs don’t get into the water supply.
All pills should be placed in clear baggies, which can be dumped directly into the bin. Other types of medicines can be put in the bin such as liquids and creams but they should be in their original containers with the prescription labels removed. The bin is in the front lobby of the police station and is accessible during business hours (Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.).
