Gilroy – The Eagles maintained a one-game lead in the Men’s DDD League basketball standings Wednesday with a 56-47 decision over Corde Ball’n at Solorsano Gymnasium.

Al Angulo registered 16 points and Jesus Reyes netted 15 as the Eagles moved to 3-0 atop the four-team standings. Michael Moore exploded for 18 points, Bobby Martin 10 for Corde Ball’n.

Handmade Healthcare remained in the pennant picture at 2-1 with a 26-23 squeaker over GC Farms. Britt Bigelow scored all nine of his Handmade points in the second half as the Healthcare offense erased a 13-8 intermission deficit. Kevin Jarvis logged seven points for the Farmers.

Toto’s Stingers reached 4-0 in the DD League after a 58-57 edging of Flash Tuesday at Solorsano Gym. Arnold Tellez paced the Stingers with 18 points. Tony Johnson struck for 20 points, Steve Connor 14 for Flash, the first-half DDD champion.

Gilroy Young Plants moved into second at 3-1 with a 56-49 win over Rocha’s Drywall Wednesday. Bill Haughney provided 11 points, Andrew Edwards 10 for the Plants. Donivan Speaks scored 11 Rocha’s Drywall points.

Pizza N’ Stuff earned a two-game lead in the Men’s D League standings with a 67-62 triumph over Morgan Hill Garage Door Tuesday. Mark Cisneros hustled to 20 points, Miguel Gillard added 15 and Sonny Old Elk 14 to the Pizza N’ Stuff (3-0) offense. Sig Reynisson hit for 18 points, Blair Wortham 14 and Danny Rodriguez 13 for the Doors.

New Hope Community Church joined the Doors and CordeValle at 1-2 with a 41-32 victory over CordeValle. Chris Soto knocked down 18 points for New Hope. Chris Vigilante and Matt Tait each scored eight for CordeValle.

The Eagles reached 2-0 in DDD play the previous week with a 52-37 decision over GC Farms. Jesus Reyes hit three three-point field goals on the way to 13 points for the Eagles. Kevin Steele fashioned 11 points, Daniel Fauss and Bob Lincoln eight apiece for the winners. Chad Bright and Kevin Jarvis popped in 11 points apiece for GC Farms.

Toto’s Stingers won two games that week to move to 3-0 in Men’s DD League action.

Dean Friend tossed in nine points as Toto’s outlasted Rocha’s Drywall 49-39. Brice Hall managed 11 Drywall points.

The Stingers added a 65-50 nod over Headstart Nursery. Adolfo Mireles Jr. scored 10 Toto’s points, Robert Lemmon 27 for Headstart.

Joel Goldsmith exploded for 14 points as Gilroy Young Plants edged Headstart 43-42. Joe Sutter provided 12 points, Manny Burns 10 for the winners. Lemmon struck for 12 for Headstart.

Rocha’s Drywall trimmed Flash 59-54 as Enrique Dalmo and Jeff Luu each scored 16 points. Jordan Reyes registered 17 points for Flash.

Pizza N’ Stuff turned back New Hope Community Church 59-51.

Cisneros delivered 20 points, Miguel Gillard 12 and Juan Rios 10 for the winners. Chris Soto logged 15 points, Michael Vanni 14 and Sergio Montenegro 13 for New Hope, the first-half DD kingpin.

CordeValle surprised Morgan Hill Garage Door 50-41. Danny Crowe and Vigilante each scored 12 Duffer points. Reynisson paced the Doors with 15 points.
