GILROY – The Energizers trimmed M&M’s 11-10 Wednesday to improve to 2-0 atop the Women’s D League at Christmas Hill Park.

Gina Orca doubled and scored the winning run in the bottom of the final inning on a Denise Chavez single.

M&M’s pushed across seven runs in the fifth inning to take a 9-4 lead. Jennifer Post highlighted the rally with a two-run single. A two-run Donna Martin double helped the Energizers to six runs in the fifth and a 10-9 lead. M&M’s pulled even in the sixth on singles from Missy Hice, Laura Hagiperos and Karen Turnlund. Turnlund took game batting honors with three hits.

Sophia Gause hit a grand slam and Joanna Hernandez delivered a three-run shot in a 33-0 Michael’s Mufflers win over the Angels. Jennifer Lanier and Shelly Schmidt lined singles for the Angels.

Handmade Healthcare (2-0) used two home runs from Mark Dean to outlast Aladdin Bail Bonds 27-16 in Men’s D action at Las Animas Park.

Benji Doi collected five hits and Paul Bejarano and Tim Sorci each scored four runs for Handmade. Ryan Boyd clubbed two triples and a single, Juan Arias two singles and a triple for Aladdin Bail Bonds (1-1).

Pete Quintanar went 4-for-5 and drove in four runs to propel Dirty Dozen by Los Chilotes 23-17. Joel Gaeta turned two home runs into five RBI for Los Chilotes. Clint Miner hit a grand slam and a solo shot for the losers.

Let’s Do This took sole possession of first place at 2-0 in the Women’s C League with a 20-9 victory over Kay’s Kids Wednesday at Gavilan Sports Park.

Laci Juarez powered a homer, triple and two doubles for Let’s Do This. Suzanne Fox hit a grand slamm, Val Perez a two-run homer for the winners. Marie Lucio and Kat Corrales each went 3-for-3, Annette Maquinalez 3-for-4 for Kay’s Kids.

Erica Vargas singled home Cheryl Kern with the deciding run in the bottom of the ninth inning as Goldsmith defeated Marks Tractor Service 13-12. Norma Wendt collected four hits, Vargas three for the Seeds. Julie Wheeler and Barb Lemberger each stroked four hits for Marks.

Debbie Garza drove in three runs with two singles to lead Impala’s Car Club to a 10-9 nod over M. Rizzo Landscaping. Silvia Vasquez added a single and triple for the Impalas. Lee Ann Blean went 3-for-4 and Michelle Garza Rivera drove in four runs for the Landscapers.
