The Gilroy Police Department, Gilroy Fire Department, and Community Services Department have teamed once again to present the fourth annual Extreme Youth skateboarding and BMX competition this Saturday, Sept. 8. 

Meet local skate pros, win prizes and listen to local bands during the event from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Gilroy Skate Park and Las Animas Park, 400 Mantelli Drive. 

The cost is free and open to any Gilroy youth of all skating and BMX levels. To register for the competition, show up between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. the day of the event. For those not wanting to compete, show up anytime during the day to hear some music and visit with friends.
