The Christopher High varsity field hockey team traveled to Monterey to take on York School in Mission Trail Athletic League action Tuesday and escaped with a 1-1 tie.

Christopher (1-0-2 in league) resumes MTAL play Monday in a showdown with North Salinas. The Vikings were the second of two teams from the MTAL to qualify for the Central Coast Section playoffs last season. Gilroy High, who moved to the Mount Hamilton Division this season, was the other.
Game time against the Vikings is slated for 3:30 p.m.
