The Gilroy Fire Fighters Local 2805 is endorsing City Council candidates Dion Bracco, Russ Valiquette and Art Barron.
“These candidates have expressed commitment to economic recovery and improving services to the community,” said Local 2805 President Joshua Valverde.
Seven candidates are running for three positions for the November election. The candidates are Pasquale Greco, Paul Kloecker, Peter Leroe-Muñoz, Russ Valiquette and incumbents Peter Arellano and Dion Bracco.
Jim Buessing, Local 2805 secretary, said public safety was a deciding issue.
“Art Barron will bring a fresh and vibrant perspective to the City Council. All three candidates are committed to keeping public safety a priority in Gilroy. These are the right candidates to guide the city through this post-recession era.”
The International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2805 represents 33 firefighters.
