Gerard Alessandrini created “Forbidden Broadway” in 1982 and has developed this spoof on Broadway musicals into 19 award-winning editions that have spread humor around the world. It’s had an unprecedented 31-year run in New York.
The show includes spoofs of “The Book of Mormon,” “Jersey Boys,” “Les Miserables,” “The Lion King,” “Rock of Ages,” “Chicago,” “Beauty and The Beast,” “Wicked” and more. They are aptly brought to life by a bright, clever group of talented Broadway actors who know their craft and know how to bring the humor.
“Forbidden Broadway” is here for a very limited engagement of six performances through March 2. If you are a musical theatre fan and you want your funny bone tickled, get over to the San Jose Rep for an enjoyable evening of satire and fun.
