Kim Lemaire, Executive Director of the Hope Center along with the all volunteer Board of Directors: Christy Rector, Kim Ruiz and Terri Britton, announced today that four local French Bulldogs are holding their third annual food drive for families and their pets in need on Saturday, June 16th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Sweet Elena’s located at 465 Olympia Avenue in Sand City.
The Hope Center’s mission is to establish a food pantry serving the Monterey Peninsula, helping our neighbors in need with supplemental groceries. The organization provides information regarding community services and empowers our children to make our world a better place.
“We will serve any family in need and that includes their pets,” said Lemaire. “When a family is hungry everyone suffers – mom, dad, the children and their pets.”
Geno, Lulu, Hugo and Rooney, owned by Marci Bracco, were having lunch with Lemaire to discuss the Hope Center when they learned that this year more than ever before there are furry four legged friends of all shapes and sizes also going without food and the Hope Centers goal is provide food for all family members in order to keep families together and fed. They held their first annual food drive in 2010 and secured four truck loads of food and in 2012 they secured 5 truck loads of food and more than $1000 for pets in need. The need is even greater in 2012, and their goal is to secure 8 truckloads of foods this year!
Please stop by and meet the team of the Hope Center, pick up some information on how you can help, meet Geno, Lulu, Hugo and Rooney and drop off non perishable canned or bagged food for four legged and two legged creatures alike. There will be collection bins on site.  Monetary donations are also welcome.  For every $100 donation on June 16th, Geno The Wonder Dog will personally sing you song on site!
If you want to help – you can also organize a food drive, and spread the word. See our fan page on Facebook: The Hope Center for more information.
Any monetary donations can be mailed to The Hope Center, 1271 10th Street #C Monterey, CA 93940. The Hope Center has a new building and is a 501C3.
