amp;T Farms wins in ‘B’
GILROY – Family Tradition captured the C Division title of the 31st annual Gilroy Co-Rec Fourth of July Softball Tournament Friday with an 8-7 rally past Summer Fun at Christmas Hill Park.

The second-place finisher last season, Family Tradition trailed 7-4 after five innings in the finale. Gabriel Ponce poked a two-run triple and Jose Melendrez Jr. hit a run-scoring single as Summer Fun scored four runs in the fifth frame for the three-run cushion.

Andrew Ornelas and Joanne Hernandez produced consecutive doubles to lead off the Family Tradition sixth. Jason Trujillo hammered a home run to tie the score. Rich Rodriquez Jr. stroked a two-out RBI-double to make it 8-7.

Rodriquez went 4-for-4 and Trujillo managed two homers for the champions. Mike Lucio went 4-for-4 for Summer Fun.

Michelle Barry went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs to propel B&T Farms to the B Division crown with a 13-4 win over Manana Properties. Leroy Dozal went 4-for-4, T. J. Dickens 3-for-3 for runner-up Manana.

Dozal produced four hits as Manana Properties outlasted Little Orchard 12-9 to earn the finals. Mike Luevano sprayed a home run, two doubles and a single for Little Orchard. Manana Properties erupted for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge Team Adobo 12-11. Thomas Carrillo doubled and tripled as Team Adobo settled for fourth place in the six-team double elimination event.

Dee’s Nuts and Cherries took the consolation title of the nine-team C Division with a 23-9 decision over Going Postal. Danny Rodriguez went 4-for-5 and scored four runs for Dee’s, while Stephanie Johnston cracked a three-run triple for Going Postal.

Andrew Bollinger went 4-for-4 and Kenny Hopf hit a two-run homer to propel Poor Sports-FOG to a 13-7 win over Radiator Doctor in the C third-place encounter. Jen Olivera went 3-for-4 for Radiator Doctor.

Marks Tractor moved to 2-0 atop the Women’s C League standings Wednesday with a 10-7 nod over Goldsmith Seeds at Las Animas Park.

Lisa Low went 4-for-4 and Barb Lemberger added three singles to anchor the Marks Tractor offense. Linda Contreras went 3-for-4 and Cheryl Kern went 2-for-3 and scored two runs for Goldsmith Seeds.

Jessica Gomez and Cynthia Garza each homered as 2-0 Let’s Do This topped Michael’s Mufflers 22-10. Jodi Mendez went 4-for-4, Diane Del Valle 4-for-5 for Let’s Do This. Maureen Schafer and Joanne Hernandez each went 3-for-4 for Michael’s Mufflers.

Corrina Casillas smashed a triple, two doubles and a single as Impalas Car Club defeated M&M’s 11-5. Jeannette Mendoza, Angela Contreras and Teresa Gutierrez each went 3-for-4 for Impalas. Jennifer Post went 3-for-3 and Cindy Barnes added two singles to the M&M’s attack.

Pete Quintanar homered and doubled as 2-0 Dirty Dozen defeated Los Chilotes 10-7 in Men’s D play Wednesday at Christmas Hill Park. Eric Calderon went 4-for-4, Art Garcia and Mike Garcia each 3-for-4 for the Dirty Dozen. Joel Gaeta hit a three-run homer and Abel Bedolla went 3-for-3 for Los Chilotes.

Dean Filice went 4-for-4, Paul Fierro 3-for-3 to fashion a 17-1 Desperados win over Aladdin Bail Bonds-Fermin’s Appliance Service. Ryan Boyd homered for Aladdin-Fermin’s.

M. Rizzo Landscaping is at 2-0 alone atop the Women’s D League standings after a 19-0 victory over the Angels Wednesday at Gavilan Sports Park.

Melanie Fajardo homered and Kelly Kramer went 3-for-4 for the Landscapers. Shawn Moen went 2-for-2 for the Angels.

Sylvia Solis went 5-for-5 and scored five runs as Kay’s Kids defeated the Energizers 35-3. Kat Korales added five hits and four runs, Annette Maquinalez four hits and five runs for the Kid’s. Gina Orca hit a two-run double for the Energizers.
