Siskiyous and Allan Hancock both created a first half deficits too big for Gavilan to come back from in their tournament match-ups.
The Rams trailed by 10 points at halftime of Friday’s Monterey Peninsula Tournament semifinal game with Siskiyous and eventually fell 72-48. The same was true for Saturday’s third place game against Allan Hancock, which Gavilan lost 91-46 to take fourth place. 
The Rams were down 19 points at halftime against Allan Hancock and were outscored 44-22 in the second half. 
Felicia Lee-Cardenas led the team with 15 points in that game. She also had six rebounds, three assists and a steal. 
Freshman Greer Watson and Kelsey Caudill both chipped in with eight points a piece and Watson added six boards. Brittany Valdez added six assists and four rebounds for Gavilan. 
Lee-Cardenas also led the team against Siskioyous, scoring 19 points—including going 6 for 6 from the freethrow line. She also had five assists and two steals. 
Caudill added seven points for Gavilan and had three rebounds, two assists and two steals. 
Gavilan (4-8) will break for the holidays before returning to action at 5 p.m. Jan. 3 at West Hills College in Lemoore.
