team, has been named to the 2009 California Academic All-State Team
by the California Community Colleges Football Coaches
Association.
GILROY – Vince Giacolone, a defensive back for the Gavilan Rams football team, has been named to the 2009 California Academic All-State Team by the California Community Colleges Football Coaches Association.

To be accepted to the team, nominees must have a 3.2 accumulated grade point average or better and a minimum of three full-time semesters (36 units) of college, with the most recent fall semester having been at the nominating community college. Also, the athlete must have played at least one season.

Giacalone has been at Gavilan since 2007. He graduated from Gilroy High School and is currently majoring in business administration with a minor in political science. He expects to earn his A.A. degree in business in the spring of 2009.
