Generosa (Inay) Lumang Acosta

Born in Manila, Philippines, and raised in Batac in the province of Ilocos Norte. Generosa “Inay” Acosta came to the United States in 1980 to join her daughter, Elena, and son-in-law. She died peacefully at home at age 92 with her loving children and family around her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Esmeraldo in 1996, and son Joven in 1942. Inay will be profoundly missed by her children Fely (late Rody), Elena (Victor), Filomena, Jessie (Shirley), Cora (Wilson) and Manny (Linda); her cherished grandchildren Ryan andFarrah; Cherylle, Jennifer, and Yvonne; Jeze and John; Alistair, Alvin, and Genna; Rizelle and Krishna; and her beloved great-grandchildren Zander and Logan; Dominic, Ryan and Ryder.

An accomplished dressmaker, Inay still sewed outfits for her daughters, grandchildren, and herself, even in her old age and with infirmities. Her most cherished moments were the many gatherings she had and trips she took with her family. She was a prayerful woman with a very warm and pleasant disposition that drew people to her. Inay loved her family unconditionally; her grace and caring can never be replaced. “We love you”, Inay. Inay was active in Sacred Heart Parish and the Filipino American Community of San Benito County.
