George L. Razo

November 4, 1953 - March 30, 2017

George Razo passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends who loved him, on March 30, 2017.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn Razo, sons, Jim Razo, Mondo Razo (Martha De Le Torre) Daughter Angela Razo (Daniel Moreno). Grandchildren Alexis Razo, Gabriel Razo, Kayla Hernandez, Daniel Moreno Jr. Evelyn Moreno, Ashley Razo and Giovanni Razo. Mother Henrietta Razo, Mother-in-Law Amelia Leal (Molly), Sisters Mary Ellen (Nena) Razo, Laura Razo (Raymond Aguirre) Brother Michael Razo (Alvia Razo) Sister-in-Laws Frances Leal, Yolanda Leal, Monica Alnas (Todd Alnas), Christina Camarillo (Julian Camarillo), Nephews David De La Rosa, Richard Aguirre, Michael Razo Jr., Joseph Razo, Frank Razo, Todd Alnas Jr. John Serrato Jr. Nieces Joanne De la Rosa , Sandra Landeros, Stephanie Romero, Allysa Alnas, Hannah Alnas, Katrina Alnas, Genaya Aguirre.
George loved growing up in Hollister. He had an amazing memory and enjoyed sharing stories of his youth. He enjoyed watching Baseball, Football, but the sport he loved most, was boxing.
He was proud to say he had a small part in helping to establish the local youth boxing club, Bull Dog Boxing Gym. He was a proud member of the US Army and served from 1972 to 1974. He worked as a cement mason for over 35 years and retired from the Cement Mason’s Union in 2013.
His greatest love was for his family and friends. He battled Stage 4 Prostate Cancer for almost four years, and from the beginning, he was concerned more about those he was leaving behind than himself. He was a loving and gentle person who was easy to love and loved easily.
He will be missed dearly. He was preceeded in the death by is father Lindberg Razo, Sister Linda Razo, Brother in law Robert De La Rosa, nephew Robert De La Rosa Jr., nieces Madelyn Serrato and Samantha Serrato Sanchez.
Memorial services will be on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 11:00am at the Veterans Memorial Building, San Benito Street at 7th Street in Hollister. Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Condolences: sanderfhcares.com
