The Gilroy Business Political Action Committee will holds its second annual Pork, Politics, Pinot & More “FUN”draiser from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 upstairs at the Old City Hall Restaurant, located at 7400 Monterey St. in downtown Gilroy.
Designed to raise funds to support voter outreach and endorsed candidates, the event will provide an opportunity to mix and mingle with local candidates, officials and business leaders, according to a GilPAC press release.
Gilroy has several key races coming up in 2014, including:
-Santa Clara County Supervisor
-Santa Clara Valley Water District
-Gilroy City Council
-Gilroy Unified School District
“The outcome of these races will help determine the business climate for years to come. GilPAC is the only group in South County that exists solely to help elect local business-friendly candidates,” the press release states.
Admission is $75 and includes hosted wines, appetizers and a “whole hog” feast. Tickets can be purchased at the event or at the Gilroy chamber of Commerce at 7471 Monterey St.

With the launch of GilPAC last year, the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce is not only working to influence government decisions, but is also striving further to elect business-friendly candidates.
GilPAC is an independent, nonpartisan organization sponsored by the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of GilPAC is to become involved in California state and local candidate and ballot measure elections, and in relevant state and local public policy issues, in order to promote the interests of the Chamber, its members, and the business community in the City of Gilroy and throughout the state.
