There is more rain in the cards for Gilroy. Turning heavy at times Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the San Francisco Bay Area, as a Pacific storm system continues to move through the region. In Gilroy, southwesterly winds are expected to reach between 14 mph to 18 mph. Rain, that will turn heavy at times this afternoon into the evening, can leave between a quarter and half an inch of precipitation. Tonight, Gilroyans can expect showers and possibly a thunderstorm, as south/southwest winds reach 21 to 25 mph, becoming west 15 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph. New rainfall can reach between three quarters and one inch. Highway 152 continues to remain closed from 2.1 miles east of Watsonville at Hecker Pass Road & Carlton Road to the Santa Clara County / Santa Cruz County border in Mount Madonna, due to a mudslide near Mount Madonna County Park. Highway 152 is also closed 1.5 miles west of Gilroy at Watsonville Road due to a mudslide. Motorists are being advised to use an alternate route.
