“The Biggest Loser” contestant on the NBC television show was the overwhelming vote-getter for the last remaining finalist spot on Tuesday’s finale. She and contestant Alfredo Dinten eventually lost to winner Patrick House.

Along with losing 99 pounds, the Gilroy native said in the finale that she has become a stronger person during the season.

Voters were asked Dec. 7 to choose between Wong and fellow contestant Elizabeth Ruiz for the third finalist spot. The finalists competed for the $250,000 grand prize based on the highest percentage of weight loss.

On the first episode of the show, Wong, 27, weighed in at 258 pounds. In a September phone interview, she said she was looking forward to trying some new adventures the show had to offer.

“For the first time, I feel like I can do sports,” she said in September. “I never dared to even think about being an athlete. I was always overweight. Now I can run marathons, go snowboarding, rock climbing.”

On the Dec. 7 episode, Wong did just that. The final four contestants had to run a marathon and Wong, who now lives in San Jose, finished the task in a little more than four hours.
