Mary Julia Ward passed away in her home at the age of 84 on May 13, 2009. She was born to Ralph and Bennie Scurry, February 8, 1925 in Saluda, SC. She is survived by her children Margene, husband Rhon Martin of Loomis, Gregg Ward of Gilroy and Mina Ward of Morgan Hill. She was the grandmother of Stefanie, husband David Pinheiro, Kevin and Lauren Bertero, Alex Benavides and Thomas Mangano; great-grandmother of Britney Gitmed and Donavyn and Natalia Pinheiro. She is the sister-in-law of Esther Scurry of Columbia, SC and Ruth Burk of Riverside, CA and the aunt of Ralph and Grace Scurry of Irmo, SC.
Passed away suddenly after a lengthy illness at home. Husband of Helen Trujillo of Gilroy, father of Ruben S. Trujillo Jr., (Marta) of Gilroy, Richard S. Trujillo (Carrie) of Morgan Hill and Leonard S. Trujillo (Debbie) of Glendale, AZ, son of Ruben and Frances Trujillo, grandfather of 15 and brother of Rudy Trujillo (Irma) of Gilroy and the late Charlie and Shirley Trujillo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Brawley, CA, Ruben then moved to Gilroy in 1950. He was a past member of the Reid-Hillview Flying Club, enjoyed water skiing, drawing and oil painting. Funeral Services Saturday, May 16, 2009 – 11:30 A.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy with visitation starting at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
Walnut Creek resident, Marie Chaney, passed away on April 25, 2009. She was 88. Born Marie Elizabeth Oslund on December 10, 1920 in Latah County, ID, she grew up on a farm near Troy, ID. She graduated from Lewiston Normal School and then received a B.A. in English from the University of Idaho. She married Bill Chaney, her husband of more than 60 years, in 1942. He died in 2005.

Jack & Joan where married for 50 years. Joan was the type of woman who shared her knowledge, her love for life, her infinite love for her family, friends, and animals, her memorable experiences that gave life, joy, perspective, & happiness to everyone that knew her. Joan had one of the biggest hearts one could ever desire and was proud to be called "friend, mentor, mom, & sister" by many people. She was kind hearted, strong spirited, had a one of a kind, wonderful sense of humor and a delightful, unforgettable, laugh that she shared often.
A long time resident of Morgan Hill, CA, Wayne was born in Konawa, OK and moved with his family to Richmond, CA during World War II. While his parents worked in the shipyards, Wayne finished high school in Richmond, and joined the Army Air Corps, serving in the army of occupation in Japan. After serving his country, he settled in Morgan Hill with his family, operating a chicken ranch on Watsonville Road with his father for several years. He met Barbara, his wife of more than fifty years, on a blind date and retired as an aircraft mechanic for Pan American Airways in 1986.
