Friends can pay their respects on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Prayer services will be at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Services: Thurs at 10:00 A.M. at The 7th Day Adventist Church. Interment will follow at the IOOF Cemetery.
Erik was 28 years old. He was born in Santa Clara, California. He lived in Morgan Hill through his early childhood years and later moved to Hollister, where he lived out the rest of his life. Erik attended Fremont and Chandler Trip Preschools, grade school at P.A. Walsh Elementary in Morgan Hill and R.O. Hardin Elementary in Hollister. He also attended Rancho San Justo Middle School and graduated in 1998 from San Benito High School. Erik loved camping, river rafting, traveling and video games. In his short life he had been to Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean, Virgin Islands and beyond. He loved to go to Disneyland and hang out with his older brother Craig and David. Erik truly enjoyed his weekend trips to Corralitos and Gizdich for lunch and dessert with mom, dad and whomever was going that way. He is survived by his mom, Rosemary Torres (spouse:Bob See), dad, Alexander L. Torres (spouse: Maria L. Torres), older siblings, Craig Torres (partner: David), Sara Cutrignelli (spouse: Maurizio Cutrignelli), Tara Torres (spouse: Ceasar Lopez), nephew, Michele Cutrignelli, and nieces, Floriana and Adri Cutrignelli. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday June 18 at 5:00 P.M., followed by a Vigil at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday June 19, 2008.

Charles E. Daly, age 77, with his wife of 37 years at his side, lost his battle to a long-term illness on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 7:00 A.M. Charles was most recently a resident of Holly Lake Ranch in Texas. Prior to that, he lived in Tacoma, WA for twenty years.
Died on his Harley doing what he loved to do. He was the husband of 38 years to Ana Sanchez of San Juan Bautista and father of Christopher Sanchez of San Jose. He was grandfather of Colin Christian & Rachel Lucia Sanchez of San Jose. David is survived by 4 sisters. Preceded in death by his beloved mother Lucia C. Sanchez. He moved to San Juan Bautista in 1990.
Laida Bakich passed away June 6th at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital at the age of 77 years with her family at her side. Laida was a native of Hollister, had graduated from Sacred Heart Grammar School, the Morleand Notre Dame Boarding High School in Watsonville, and the College Of Notre Dame in Belmont, CA. Upon graduation Laida was employed by the Bank Of America in San Francisco and later, in Vacaville. After taking time off to start and raise her family, Laida then went to work for Almaden Vineyards in San Juan Bautista and the Don Pacheco "Y" Restaurant. In addition to the Old Mission San Juan Bautista Parish, Laida was a member of the Wednesday Card Club, and the San Juan Parlour N.G.D.W. Besides being an excellent cook, said her family, Laida loved gardening and going to garage sales. "Most important in her life was her family and grandchildren," said her husband Mitchell Bakich Jr. to whom she was married for 57 years last November 25th. Besides Mitchell, Laida is survived by her daughters Monique Cabrera, husband Mike of Hollister, and Michelle Boisen, husband Jeff of Santa Cruz; sister Marie Waller of Hollister; grandchildren Mitchell Ryan Bakich, spouse Heather, Nicholas Bakich, Marqui and Drew Boisen.
Retired Welder from Local 62 Plumbers & Steamfitters Union, owner of Blayney Saddle Company, custom saddlery. Gary loved cruising, Disneyland, camping at Memorial Park, riding ATV's in the Sierra National Forest, growing a rose garden for his wife, taking the Grandkids to see the deer, going to the cabin with family and friends, horses, custom leather & saddles, fixing everything, doing things with his family especially his pride and joy, daughter, Dineen and sons, Richard and Joel.
Mavis died peacefully at home Tuesday, June 10, 2008 after a long illness. Born to Frank and Mary Marten in San Jose, CA. Mavis graduated from Castilleja High School and U.C. Berkeley where she met her surviving husband George, whom she married in Houston, TX January 29, 1944.
Passed away in Grass Valley at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital on June 3, 2008. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life, June 28, 2008 from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at King Center in San Mateo. She will be buried at San Juan Batista Cemetery in Hollister, CA.
