Mark Nowaskey

Mark passed away peacefully at the age of 56 years old. Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie, mother Joan Nowaskey, siblings Gail Powell, Sara Gates, Paul Nowaskey, Mary Hamilton, nephews and nieces, favorite cousin, Jane Marble, our best friends, Dawn, Lori and Linda. Mark was a Special Building Inspector in the Bay Area. He lived his life and did his job with pride and integrity. Mark was a character, with his sense of humor and many jokes and stories of his adventures through his time on earth. He left an interesting story to tell by anyone who knows him or had the pleasure of meeting Mark for the first time. Mark was one of a kind and he will be greatly remembered and missed by all.

Sophie Laveroni

Our beloved Mother, passed away May 10, 2008 in Los Gatos, CA at the age of 94. She was born in St. Charles, IL and was raised in Hollister, CA with her 6 brothers and 1 sister. She married Vernon R. Laveroni of San Juan Bautista, and after WWII they raised their children, Edward and Barbara in Mountain View. Sophie retired from Hewlett Packard after 25 years. She was a resident of Morgan Hill for many years before and after our father's death.

James E. Dal Bon

Jimmy passed away peacefully on May 6, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Kaye and children Jeff (Kristi), Brad (Amy), stepchildren Keri Kenney(Gregg), Shelly Moore (Chris) and Ali Campbell (Mike) & sister Sylvia Whaley (Dana). He was the proud Papa of seven grandchildren. Jimmy was predeceased by his parents Silvio & Marie, sister Linda and first wife Merrilee.

Martha Emma Benidt

Martha Emma Benidt passed away Saturday at the age of 97 at Whispering Pines Inn. Martha was a retired School teacher/principal in Castro Valley. She is survived locally by her niece, Judy Benidt. Elizabeth C. Hill

Elizabeth C. Hill (nee Zervas), devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother entered into rest on May 8, 2008 at the age of 99. She was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin November 21, 1908, moved to Portland, Oregon and later to Redwood City in 1945 where she resided in her home until recently. She is preceded in death by her husband Crawford.

Joe is survived by his wife Yvonne, children Heather (Edward) Callens, Justin (Arleah) Fields and Matthew Fields, and granddaughters Jenna and Jodi Fields.

John Edward McKenzie

John Edward "Ed" McKenzie, son of the late John and Elizabeth McKenzie of Los Altos and long-time resident of the South County, passed away of heart failure on May 6 in Morgan Hill. He was 76. Ed was preceded in death in 1989 by his devoted wife Barbara. Survivors include loving daughter Ann Marrier (Stephen) and grandsons Christopher and Brian Ragone, all of Sarasota, Florida; sister Caroline Appling (David) of Morgan Hill; and brother Thomas McKenzie (Lillian) of Schertz, Texas. He will be much missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Charles Joseph Kantmann

Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, godfather, and friend to innumerable humans and dogs, Chuck was an accomplished programmer, mechanic, lector, cribbage player, rancher, shaker, solemnizer, and a semi-successful fisherman and dancer.
