Paul Edward Wood

Husband of the late Tommy Lou Cowell Wood (the love of his life), father of Theodore Edward Wood (Linda) of Gilroy, CA, Thomas Paul Wood (Zennie) of Salinas, CA and the late Janet Janice Wood Garland and her surviving husband, Gene.Grandfather of Ted, Tim, Leeanna, Bonnie, George, Carrie, Michelle, Dusti and Derrick. He was a great-grandfather of 18, and was raised in Kansas City, Kansas. Paul was a Navy Veteran of World War II and moved to Salinas in the mid 50's. He worked as a salesman for Dolly Madison Cakes, owned and operated the Flamingo Bar in Salinas, he was a truck driver for Sam Andrews Produce in Holtville and later in his retired life, he delivered the Salinas Californian Newspaper. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War and an avid bowler. Paul was also a past member of the Alisal Lions Club, Salinas. Private family service has already been held. Donations to the American Lung Association preferred.

Charles H. (Charlie) Jones III

Charlie passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the age of 60 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife Sandy, daughter and son-in-law Wendy and Dave Lowi and their 2 children Carly and Laine, his 2 brothers Bill McDow and Devlin Jones and their families, and a large company of extended family and friends.

Entered into rest in Los Banos. Visitation: Sunday, May 4th 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Rosary: 7:00 PM Sunday at St. Benedict's Church. Mass: Monday, May 5th at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict's Church. Interment: Calvary Cemetery.

Manuel A. Perez

The Lord called Manuel back to his home on April 23, 2008. Manuel was born on May 14, 1922 in El Monte California, and moved to Gilroy in 1937. He married his late wife Helen Perez in 1942 and was happily married for almost 50 years. Manuel served in the U.S. Army and fought in the South Pacific. After his military service Manuel worked as a welder for BG. Manuel then began working as a truck driver for Moretti and Georgia Pacific. He retired in 1984. Manuel's greatest passion was caring and maintaining his vehicles. He took great pride in his cars!

Dennis D. Charvez

Entered into rest in Hollister at the age of 65. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Kelly and Dean Machado of San Juan Bautista. Memorial services: Friday, May 9th at 3:00 P.M. at The 7th Day Adventist Church, 2121 Sunnyslope Rd. Hollister.

Olga N. Bertuccio

Olga N. Bertuccio passed away last Tuesday at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital at the age of 84. Olga was born and raised in Hollister and lived here all her life. She attended local schools and graduated from San Benito High School. She was a member of Immaculate Conception and Sacred Heart parishes, and a member of the Farm Bureau. Olga was an orchardist as well as the proprietor of Bertuccio's Fruit Stand at her property on Airline Highway where she enjoyed working and assisting people. "She liked it because it kept her in touch with her friends", said her family. "She wasn't a stranger to people, because she always wanted to assist people", said her sister, Irma. She also had a great love for animals, especially her dogs and cats.

Glenn Alvin Blacklock

Glenn has gone to be with our Lord and Savior, where he will enjoy eternal rest. He died peacefully in his home on Saturday, April 26. He was a kind and honorable man, always doing what he could for others.

Ned Everett

Ned Everett, 96, of Hollister, passed away April 25, 2008. He is survived by his daughters, Sabra Everett, Hollister, and Louise Graham, Lexington, Kentucky as well as a granddaughter, Mary Louise (Nick) Pozaric and a great-grandson, Graham Everett Pozaric, all of Louisville, Kentucky. His wife, Mary Lou, preceded him in death in 2003. Mr. Everett was a retired banker whose hobbies were model trains and family history. The family thanks all who provided care for him in his last illness, particularly Dr. Marni J. Friedman and the staff of the Mabie Southside Skilled Nursing Center. Thomas Joseph Sondgroth

The Lord called Tom back to His home on April 21, 2008. Tom was born on August 19, 1918 in Bonesteel, South Dakota, In 1929, the family moved to Charleston Road in Mountain View, California to establish a family dairy.

Guadalupe Duarte

Husband of Maria de Jesus Duarte passed away in San Jose at the age of 57 years.Visitation this morning (Fri) from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the mortuary followed by graveside services at 11:00 A.M. with military honors at San Juan Cemetery. See www.grunnagle.com for condolences.
