Mary F. Diaz

Mary passed away in her home on Sunday afternoon April 20th, 2008 surrounded by her loved ones. She will be remembered for her loving heart and nurturing ways and her love of bingo, crocheting, coooking and coloring. She is preceded in death by her husband Jose L. Diaz Sr., her children Angelo, Ventura (Ralph) Gonzalez Celia Yourgulez. She is survived by her children Gloria (Cenado) Ayala, Richard Diaz, Alice Lamson, Virginia (Thomas) Martinez, John F. (Marylou) Diaz Sr., Maggie Diaz, Joe F. Diaz Jr., Erma Charles, Irene (Manuel) Lujan-Trinidad, 35 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on May 3rd, 2008 at First Baptist Church, 8455 Wren Avenue, Gilroy, CA at 11:00 A.M.

Dorothy M. Muscari, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at The Ridge Rehabilitation Center of Salinas. She was born February 19, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois.

John R. Miller

Mr. Miller was a Gilroy resident and Veteran of the Army of the United States. He was the husband of Erna Miller of Gilroy. Graveside services have been changed to Friday, April 25, 2008 - 12:00 P.M. Noon at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, CA.

Margarita Reyes Polanco

Margarita Reyes Polanco of Morgan Hill, passed away April 21, 2008 with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband Enrique Polanco; children Abby (David) Lujan, Olivia Corona, Helen Corona, and David Corona; also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children Manuel Corona, Gabriel Corona and Jenny Cavazos. Margie was always looking out for others, she enjoyed dancing and music, but most importantly, cherished time with her husband and family. Visitation will begin at Habing Family Funeral Home 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 25 followed by a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Saturday, April 26 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.

Jackie (Jaka) Borina

Jackie Borina passed away peacefully on March 29, 2008 in Los Gatos at the age of 83. Born on July 6, 1924, on the island of Lumbarda, Korcula in the former Yugoslavia, Jackie immigrated to the United States with her parents and sister, Betty, initially settling in San Pedro, CA. While visiting an Aunt in San Francisco, Jackie met Nick Borina at a wedding. The couple married, settling in Santa Clara County, where they worked growing and harvesting the finest cherries and other crops in San Jose and in Morgan Hill. Jackie was a homemaker, with a talent in cooking special home-cooked meals for her family, friends and relatives while supporting her husband, Nick, Sr. in his agricultural and business endeavors. Jackie is survived by her children, Julie (Mark), Florence, Marianne and Nick, Jr. and six grandchildren, Don, Kelsey, Lauren, Katherine, Joshua, and James. Also survived by her sister Betty (Paul), many cousins, nieces and nephews and Jackie's special pet, "Boo-Boo". Her husband Nick, preceded her in death in death in 2003. They were married for 55 years.

Santana (Shotgun) Valdez

Mr. Valdez was laid to rest on April 18, 2008. He is survived by his daughter Rosemary (Punky) Valdez Valenzuela and stepchildren- Hector, Danny, Ricky and Karen as well as 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brother Mike Valdez, 2 sisters- Libby Trujillo and Josie Martinez and 38 nieces and nephews.

Harry L. Scagliotti

Harry L. Scagliotti passed away at the age of 90 years at Mabie Skilled Nursing Center, Hollister. Harry and his spouse Elsie Scagliotti of Hollister were approaching their 64th wedding anniversary. He was a devoted father to Randy Scagliotti (Spouse Barbara) of Newcastle, CA and Nancy Scagliotti (Spouse Mark Vorobik) of Edison, WA.

Helen L. Dillon

Helen passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday evening, April 17th surrounded by family members. Affectionately known as "Bahba" by family and friends, she will be remembered for her devotion to her family and the joy she brought to everyone's life she encountered.
