Rodney Edgar Gatch

Rod Gatch passed away in San Jose, CA. He was extraordinarily talented, creative, and mechanical. He was the loving companion of Kavita Ramani, father of Michael Gatch and Michelle Bennett, and grandfather of Melody and Mikey Gatch.

Aurelio Perez Garcia passed away in Prunedale at the age of 36.

Mercy L. Bartido

Mercy passed away Jan 12th at Hazel Hawkins Hospital at the age of 39 years. A native of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, Philippine Islands, Mercy was a member of the Filipino American Community of San Benito County and Sacred Heart Church. She was the spouse of the late Wilson Bartido; the mother of Don Al-Rich Bartido (wife Crystal) of Lodi; and Kristine Bartido (husband Gerald) of San Jose; the sister of Relie Tabancay (husband Juan) of Hollister. She is survived by many relatives in California and the Philippine Islands.

Keith Arthur Carlen

Keith Arthur Carlen passed away on Wednesday, January 9th at the age of 75 years. He was born in Eagle Rock, CA and lived for years with his parents and sister in Madera, CA, where he played football as a star fullback at Madera High. He graduated from Fresno State with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army and later became, at that time, the youngest Road Commissioner in the state of California. Along with his family and friends, Keith loved football, the out-of-doors, reading, fishing, and his dogs. He will be remembered for the lessons he taught us, for his honesty, his courage, and his sense of humor, even during recent years of illness. Keith is survived by his daughters, Robin Carlen-Murray and Laurel Carlen-Rowe; by three grandchildren, Taran, A.J. and Tori Rowe; and by Rina, his lifelong friend. He is also survived by numerous other family members. A special thank you to those nurses, aides, and staff at Mabie Southside Skilled Nursing Center who helped care for, were kind, and made such a difference in the last year of Keith's life. A private service for family and friends will be held at a later date.

Santa Teresa Talerico Monaco

Santa Teresa Talerico Monaco was born on June 9, 1910, in Spokane, Washington. In 1926, she and her family moved to Gilroy, where she worked in the local cannery. Santa and her family later moved to San Jose where she ran her own small market and worked in the canneries with her mother. In 1943, Santa married Colardo Monaco and moved to San Martin. They owned a neighborhood grocery store in Morgan Hill and grew prunes and grapes on their ranch in San Martin. Santa and Colardo raised three children and shared 33 years together until he passed away in 1976. After her children were grown, Santa worked at the San Martin School Cafeteria. In her younger years, Santa loved to cook and bake, and her home was always filled with friends and family. In her later years, she had more time to enjoy her life-long passion for gardening. She also enjoyed visiting with her friends at the Morgan Hill Senior Center. On January 11, 2008, the Angels carried Santa home.

Robert A. (Bob) Cirelli

Robert Cirelli passed away at Hazel Hawkins Hospital on Jan. 13th at the age of 71 years. A native of New York, Bob has lived in San Benito County for 42 years. He was a graduate of James Lick High School in San Jose and was a self employed building contractor for 45 years. An outdoorsman at heart, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, and team roping throughout Central California, as well as at the Bolado Park Fairgrounds. Besides being a farmer and orchardist, he enjoyed gardening around his home in Tres Pinos in his later years. Bob is survived by his children and their spouses, Cheryl and Tom Larios; Caryn and Mike Paidl; and Mark and Kim Cirelli, all of Hollister; his grandchildren Tracey Paidl, Tony Larios, Megan and Brandon Cirelli; great grandchildren Taryn Lavender and Jacob Larios; his sisters Marion Tedrow, spouse Bob; and Linda Artlett, spouse Jim of San Jose; his former wife Barbara Corona of Hollister; many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles, and his dog Max.

Irene Pauline Ford

Irene Ford, 82 0f Morgan Hill, CA went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2008. She passed away at her daughter's home in Chino, CA with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Irene (Hulbert) Ford was born on June 20, 1925 in Dow, Oklahoma to Rollen and Pearl Hulbert. She was the youngest of eight children. She married Henry James Ford on December 13, 1943. They lived in the Morgan Hill area most of their 51 years of marriage. Irene is survived by her only child, Cathy (Charles) Hudson of Chino, CA; grandson, Derrick (Evelyn) Hudson of Gilroy, CA; great grandchildren, Derrick James, Austin, Noah and Trina. A visitation will take place on Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 5-9 pm at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill. A private burial will take place on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Gustine, CA.
