Megan M. Adamsky

Megan M. Adamsky, 80, a long-time Gilroy resident, passed away unexpectedly, but quietly, in her sleep November 27, 2007, in a Turlock hospital after a very brief stay. Mrs. Adamsky, born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sturek in St. Joseph, MO., led an adventurous life. After graduating from the University of New Mexico, she taught school in Los Alamos and Seattle. She then moved to an oil camp in the jungles of Venezuela, where she was responsible for educating the children of the oil workers. There she met John Adamsky, who remained her loving husband until his death in 1994. His work took them to many parts of the globe from Italy to the Far East. They eventually settled in their retirement years in Gilroy, where Mrs. Adamsky was a member of the AAUW. She is survived by her sister, Jo Ann Eklund of Peoria, AZ, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gilroy on Monday, December 3 at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gilroy Library, whose personnel helped her immensely during the long period of her home confinement, or to Guide Dogs of America, 13445 Glenoaks Blvd., Sylmar, CA 91342. Megan would approve -- she loved all dogs.

Mary E. Sifuentez

Mary E. Sifuentez passed away after a lengthny illness, Monday morning at the age of 52 in Hollister. Born in Artesia, New Mexico, coming to Hollister in 1968. Mary is survived by her husband, Albert Sifuentez, Sr., her children, Albert Sifuentez,Jr., wife, Evelyn, Tanya Sifuentez and Gilbert Sifuentez all of Hollister. Daughter of Kathy and Robert Maldonado, Sr. of Hollister. Sister of Chris Garcia, Lazaro Rodriquez, Cynthia Pettie, Robert Maldonado,Jr. and Rodine Maldonado all of Hollister. Also survived by 3 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services are planned for Friday afternoon November 30th. Please call 637-2286 for service time.

Philip David "Tootsie" Blundopassed away at his home Saturday, November 24, 2007 surrounded by his family and friends. Husband of the late Linda Blundo.

Passed away in Hollister at the age of 46. Mother of Crystal, Brittany and Travis Williams of San Juan Bautista.

Alfonso V. Jaime

Alfonso V. Jaime passed away Saturday, November 24th, at the age of 83, in Hemet, California. Born in Lemoore, CA, he lived in Hollister from 1932 to 1954, when he moved to El Segundo, CA. He attended local schools in Hollister and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for Foremost Dairy and was in charge of weights and measures for 37 years. Alfonso was preceded in death by his wife Rachel who died in 1994, his parents, Luis and Maria Jaime and brothers; Adolph and Henry Jaime. He was the father of Anne Turek of Pacifica, Rick Jaime of San Andreas, George Jaime of El Segundo, Cathy Nicholai of Fort Bragg, Marie DeGand of Woodland,and Mark Jaime of Smith River, brother of Carmen Jaime of Mexico and Mae Landeros of Hollister. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Joan Dixie Mathers

Joan Dixie (Whittingham) Mathers of Morgan Hill, was loving, compassionate, artistic and impish. Dearly loved mom and grammie, Joan was born in Canada on August 5, 1922 and entered into Heaven November 25,2007. She is survived by her children; Jan Mathers of Aptos, Jack and Carol Mathers of Salem, Oregon, Cindy and Roger Brown of Hollister, grandchildren; Jenny Molina, Phil Brown, Marcie Moles and Christina Brown, and great-grandsons; Tristan Molina and Riley Moles. Friends wishing to join in a celebration of Joan's life are invited to Windmill Mobile Home Estates clubhouse in Morgan Hill on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 1:00 P.M.

Joseph W. Kraut Sr. M.D.

Joseph W. Kraut, Sr. M.D., passed away at his home on Saturday, November 24, 2007. Dr. Kraut was born in Freeport, Illinois on March 13, 1929. He moved to Washington D.C. following graduation from Aquin High School and attended Georgetown University from which he received a bachelor's degree and George Washington University, from which he received his medical degree. He put himself through school and supported his family by working in the Capitol Police Force, the FBI and the CIA, where he met his former wife, Patricia Kraut.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 1:00 P.M., followed by Vigil Services at 7:00 P.M., both at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Rose Linda Mendoza

Rose Linda Mendoza passed away in Stanford, CA at the age of 50. Visitation: Sat. Dec. 1st from 7:00 AM until 9:00 AM. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Mass: Sat. at 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church. Cremation will follow the Mass with private inurnment.

Manuela G. Guevara

Manuela G. Guevara passed away in San Jose, CA on November 25, 2007, after a brief illness. She was 98 years old. She was a native of Mexico, but has been a Gilroy resident since 1943. Mrs. Guevara is survived by her children; Ofelia Lestro of San Jose, Josephine Guevara, Mary Gonzales, Helen Duran, Olivia Perry , Florence Martinez, all of Gilroy, Louie Guevara of Valley Springs, Manuel Guevara of Modesto, Daniel Guevara of Yarnell, Arizona and Elias Guevara of Thousand Palms, sister of Mickie Briano of Fontana.
