Evelyn Elaine Wenrick Garcia of Hollister passed away after a long illness at the age of 61. She was born and raised in Hollister. "Evie" as she was known to most of us, loved knitting, reading, crossword puzzles and board games. She was Jeopardy's most loyal fan and would stay up late to watch old movies. But, most of all, Evie loved children. Evie's kindness and unconditional love was undeniable. She was not only a mother, grandmother and babysitter, but a mentor, counselor and a dear friend. Evie's special love fostered countless kids who needed her, just as much as she wanted and needed them. She was a loving and inspirational human being to all who were fortunate to have met her.
