Betty Jean Willson Tarp

Betty Jean Willson Tarp, loving mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend, began eternity with her Lord on Friday, October 19, 2007. Born to Ed and Nellie Willson on Monday, April 5, 1926, Betty's first home was the Tilton Ranch in Morgan Hill where her father worked as foreman. Moving to San Martin when she was 6 years old, Betty lived on the 3,200-acre Ramelli cattle ranch. She attended San Martin Elementary School and would sometimes take her lamb "Pudgy" to school!

Larry Dean Martin

Larry passed away on Saturday in Los Gatos. He left behind his mother Patsy Martin, children, Jacob and Rachel, brothers, Andy and Eric, and many friends and family who loved him.

Harold Strong Nissen

Harold Strong Nissen, 89, passed away on October 19, 2007, at Vallejo Care Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauleen. He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Sandra and Charles Green of Sacramento, and a son and his wife, Harold and Iwona Nissen of Medford, OR. He is also survived by his sister and her husband, Mary Jane and Les Valentine, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lucy Cortez

Lucy Cortez passed away Oct. 19, 2007. She is survived by her children: Richard, Juan Jr., Cindy and David Cortez. She also has 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two children: Robert and Norma Cortez.

On Oct. 17, my darling wife of 50 years fell asleep in death due to her failing heart.

Howard Leland Wright, Sr.

Howard "Howie" Wright, Sr. suddenly passed into Heaven at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Palo Alto, CA, at age 79. "Howie," a native San Jose'ian served in WWII, finding housing for the concentration camp survivors working under a full bird in the Army. While in reserve status, he was called to serve in the Korean war as a private first class. Howie's grandfather; Richard French, born in Southerland, England, but raised in the USA, was the first elected Mayor (Council Head) in San Jose, CA, for a six year term (1932-1938). His father, George R. Wright, a San Jose native, was the chief cabinet maker for the San Jose City Public Works Dept. from 1932-1954. George was also the Santa Clara City Marshal from 1919-1920. Howie's father and mother, Laura T. Wright (French), were members of the Native Sons/Daughters of the Golden West. Howie's parents were 20 years apart in age.
