Born to John and Ella Murphy on Dec. 19, 1921 in Chicago, Ill., Eileen Marie Murphy Jarvis passed away peacefully on Sept. 13, 2007. She is reunited with her loving husband of 58 years Arthur, her brothers John and Howard, her sisters Elizabeth and Celeste, and each of their spouses.
Peter R. Alvidrez passed away Friday morning in Hollister at the age of 77. He was born In El Centro, was raised along with his brothers and sisters in Corcoran and came to San Benito County in 1963. Peter was a construction worker having worked on the San Luis Dam in the late 1950's and early 1960's. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church; V.F.W. Post 9242 of Hollister and the Laborers International Union, #297 in Salinas.
Jerry F. Mascarenas passed away in Salinas at the age of 34. He is the son of Lucia Garcia of Hollister and survived by family and friends. Memorial services will be on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007 at 5:00 PM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home.
Shane Joshua Conradson went home to be with his Lord and Savior while skin diving in the Philippines. Shane, known as Josh, was born in Meeker, CO, May 19, 1991.

Roberto G. Valdez passed away at Mabie Skilled Nursing Center Northside, September 10th at the age of 87 years after a courageous battle with lung cancer. A native of Guanajuato, Mexico, Roberto has been a resident of San Benito County for over 50 years, where he started as a seasonal agricultural employee harvesting tree and row crops; worked as a pruner and later retired as a full time electrician for Tri-Valley Cannery, where he had spent 25 years. Roberto was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Teamsters Local No. 890 of Salinas. He was a collector of a wide selection of ceramics and artifacts, some of which may be seen in his yard. " He liked to stay busy; he was a true fixer-upper who liked working in his yard, enjoyed watching boxing matches and the bull fights on T.V and was respected for his ability as a pool player in Hollister." "He received the most joy, however, doing things for his family, grandchildren, and friends-always lending a helping hand", said his children.
Michael Anthony Mercado, 48, of San Diego, died Sunday, September 2, 2007. He was born in Gilroy and was a fashion designer. Michael was the owner/designer of "Michael Mercado Collections".
Lee Wilson was born June 14, 1920 in Enid, OK, the son of Leonard and Inez Darling Wilson. He died the evening of September 7, 2007, at the Commons, United Methodist Health Care Center, Enid, OK.
