Edna Miller grew up in Bakersfield, CA. She attended Santa Clara University where she met her husband of 32 years. She spent 29 years in San Jose as a math teacher in both junior high and high school. She took great pride in her 10 years of work with the Morgan Hill Swim Team. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and aunt. Edna is survived by her loving husband, Gary; her daughter, Melissa; her parents, Gil and Dora; her sister and her brothers. She has touched the hearts of many with her positive attitude and her willingness to never give up. She is remembered for being determined, outspoken and courageous in her battle with life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be on Friday, August 24, 2007 from 4-8 PM with a vigil service to commence at 7:00 PM, both at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 9:15 AM at St. Catherine Parish, 17400 Peak Avenue, Morgan Hill. Interment to follow. The family requests that donations be made in Edna's memory to your favorite charity.
Milo Fierro put the kickstand down one last time on August 15, 2007 when he arrived at the end of his life's ride. A native of Gilroy, Milo enjoyed a wide variety of pleasures, none more than riding one of the many motorcycles he owned during his life. He is survived by his mother Natividad Fierro, two sons, Zack and Zeb, siblings, Paul, Ralph, Sonia and Sam, and many relatives and friends. We will miss hearing him tell stories about his tireless search for a good time and remember with a laugh every story he shared.
Born Carol Lynn Anderson in Lincoln, Ne. to Robert and Dixie Anderson.She passed peacefully on 8-10-07 with loved ones next to her side. She lost her fight with Lupus that she had been fighting for over 25 years. Carol is survived my her husband Frank Adams of Riverbank,father Robert Anderson and wife Barbara of Santa Clara, sister Kathy Bustabade and husband Pete of Loomis, daughter Stacie Valdez and Jimmie Marks of Gilroy, son Mike Hardin and wife Ruth of Colfax, daughter Jody Adams and husband Anthony of Riverbank. Carol had 9 grandchildren. Frank and Carol combined had 11 children, 25 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.Carol loved, laughed, and lived life to the fullest.She had a huge heart, beautiful blue eyes and a loving smile. A memorial will be held on 8-17 at 11:00am at Parkview Cementary and Funeral Home in Manteca.
Maria L. Medeiros passed away at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital on Tuesday August 14th at the age of 77 years. A native of Faial, Azore Islands, Maria had lived in San Benito County for 46 years. She was a very active member of the Portuguese Lodge S.D.E.S. where she donated many of her hand crocheted blankets to the Fiesta as fund raisers; as well as a member of Sacred Heart Church. Her family was a very integral part of her life, especially her grandchldren. Many wonderful times were spent cooking for her family, working in her garden, and tending to her flowers. She and her husband Antonio A. Medeiros traveled to the "Old Country" on several occasions. Maria was the daughter of the late Sergio G. and Emilia Leal Medeiros. Besides her husband she is survived by children Luciano Medeiros (wife Joyce); and Lidia Collins (husband Chris) of Hollister; and Antero Medeiros (wife Lori) of San Jose.

Jeanne Ashe passed away peacefully at Hillview Convalescent Hospital in Morgan Hill, CA on her 90th birthday. Jeanne was born in Lincoln, NE to Lewis and Nellie Yoho. The Yoho family moved to the San Jose area in 1920. Jeanne attended San Jose High School where she met Ralph W. Ashe. After graduation she worked as a photographer for the Lamplighter Studios in San Jose and Sacramento. Jeanne and Ralph were married on March 6, 1938. Jeanne was an active participant of San Jose Rebekah Lodge #87 and became a District Deputy President in 1951. In her travels through the state of California Jeanne and her team were honored by many lodges, with their drill team performances. Joshehine Rebekah Lodge #14 of San Jose honored Jeanne with her 50-year pin in 2006. Jeanne with her husband and four daughters moved to Gilroy in the summer of 1952. She worked as a dinner house waitress in the Gilroy area for 35 years. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Ralph Ashe, her loving daughter Dorothy and son-in law Vince Massaro of Wooster, OH; her adoring sister Virginia Pat Boone. She is survived by her sister Betty Triant of Henderson, NV; sister-in-law Gerturde "Trudy" Lewis of Paradise, Ca; daughters Barbara Ashe of Gilroy, Susan (Leroy) Lemberger of Dos Palos, and Malinda (Ed) Filice of Templeton, CA. Loving grandchildren Steve (Angie) Massaro and Patricia Massaro of Wooster, Oh; and Wes (Terri) Massaro of Gardner, KS; Darla (Gordon) Contival Jr. of Gilroy, Lori (Michael) Castello of Hollister, Scott Lemberger of Chowchilla, Jennifer Filice of Salinas, and Nicolas Filice of Templeton, CA; great-grand children Mike and Malissa Castello of Hollister, Brooke Contival of Gilroy, CA, Mark and Jess Massaro of Wooster, OH, Owen and Eric of Gardner, KS. Many nephews, nieces, family and friends will gather at Pacific Mobile Estates Clubhouse at 500 W. 10th Street in Gilroy, at 1:00 pm on Saturday August 18, 2007 to celebrate her life. Our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the nurses and staff at Hillview Convalescent Hospital for the loving care given to our friend and mother. All will miss her stories. Fred Corona was born on May 2, 1957 in San Jose, CA, he passed away on 8/12/2007 at 1:01am at Santa Clara Valley Medical Hospital. He was survived by his 4 children; Fred Corona Jr. and Wife Leslie from Oregon, Christina Staal and husband Jereme from Sacramento, Jason Corona and wife Joanna from Oregon, and Andrea Corona from Morgan Hill, along with his five grandchildren. As well as his Mother Socorro Corona from Morgan Hill, brother Carlos Corona and sisters Rosie Campos, Madeline Rivera and Joanie Vegas.
Mildred Holloway Wharton LaRue was born September 23, 1911 in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph E. Holloway and Minella W. Holloway. She passed away August 10, 2007 in Morgan Hill, CA at the age of 95. Mrs. LaRue resided in Saratoga, for 33 years, the Villages in San Jose for 27 years, and Morgan Hill for the last two years of her life.
Daughter of Juan & Francisca Barbosa passed onto a peaceful life in Reno, Nevada. Herlinda lived in Gilroy, CA 57 years with her last 9 years in Reno Nevada.
