Memorial services for Mr. Winfield Johnson will be on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 6:00 P.M. at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign, IL. Military and Masonic rites will be accorded.
Mary Margerite Price was born in Los Angeles on August 2, 1925. She resided in Morgan Hill 53 years. Mary died at home July 24, 2007. She was the sole survivor of six born to Ernst & Selma Jenewein. Mary's family came from Minnesota where they had a butcher shop. Mary survived her husband Warren (1964) and son William (1990). Mary is survived by her children; Winferd, Warrenette, Nathan and David II, daughter-in-laws, and special brother-in-law David I. She has five grandchildren; Christopher, Jamie, Wavel, David III, Joseph; and three great-grandchildren. Mary is survived by numerous cousins, including Lyle & Virginia, and nieces and nephews. Her special long-time friends include Eliza Henninger-Anderson, Avis Dunworth, Manzanita Chapter Eastern Star, IO Rainbow Girls and Hillview Convalescent staff.
Maria Leal, age 83, passed away on Friday, July 20, at the Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility in Hollister. Maria was born in Castelo Branco, Faial, Azores Islands (Portugal) on Nov. 21, 1923. The family then arrived in the United States in 1958. They settled in Hollister/San Juan Bautista, CA in 1961. She was a hard worker and worked at many different jobs. She worked at Ferry-Morse Seed Co. and the cannery until she retired in 1988. She loved her family and enjoyed gardening, attending church, crocheting, playing cards with her grandchildren and attending annual Portuguese celebrations. Known to most as Avo (which means grandma in Portuguese) she was very upbeat and full of life! Avo loved to laugh, sing and dance...most of the time made up her own lyrics which followed in a burst of laughter.
John H. Winchel passed away Sunday afternoon in Hollister at the age of 72. He was born in Los Angeles, and has lived in San Benito County for the past 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. John was an avid aircraft enthusiast and was a crew chief for Hugh's Vintage Aircraft at the local airport. John is survived by his wife, Yvonne Defalco Winchel of Tres Pinos and a son, Michael Winchel of Idaho.
Joan B. Fuelling entered into rest at her San Juan Bautista home at the age of 55. She was born in Iowa and moved to San Juan Bautista from Morgan Hill 5 years ago. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and her favorite pastime was reading. She and her husband, Neal, were married in 2000 in Morgan Hill and she worked for many years as a licensed Vocational Nurse.
Grace passed away on Saturday at her home in Morgan Hill, CA at the age of 71. Grace was a life long resident of Morgan Hill, and is survived by her husband of 15 years, Robert Richmond, her two sons; Joe (Elaine) Twight, and George (Vickie) Twight, her brother, Mack (Linda) McClellan, her sister, Angie McClellan, 7 granddaughters; Amanda, Georgia, Apryl, Melissa, Amber, Kimmy, and Karen, and 2 great-grandchildren; Rilea and Pryce. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Irving J. Twight and her mother, Angie Carter.
Katherine D. Anaplotis died on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at her home in Freedom. She was 82 years old and was surrounded by her much loved family at her death;
