Waltraud I. (Trudy) Rasmussen passed away at her Hollister home. She was born in Weimar,Germany and came to Hollister from Marina 33 years ago. She is preceded in death by her husband, Neal Rasmussen who died in 1966.

Douglas Schneider, Sr., 79, a long-time resident of Morgan Hill, passed away in Craig, Colorado.

Richard B. Evanoff

Richard's passing was due to complications of Parkinson's Disease, which he had had for 17 years. His last few weeks were spent at the VA Hospital in the Palliative Care Unit in Menlo Park.

Jospehine A. DiMarino passed away June 24, 2007 in Gilroy. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Albert in 1999; survived by their children Albert, Louie, and Jerry DiMarino, all of Gilroy.

Kathleen M. Bouchey

KATHLEEN M. BOUCHEY, 66, of Gilroy, passed away from cancer. She was the wife of George Bouchey of Gilroy, sister of Clyde McDonald of Florida and Rob McDonald of Ohio, sister-in-law of Juanita Wallace of Gilroy, Wanda Bouchey of Galt, CA, and Mary Wine of Riverside, aunt of Cindy Hayes of Gilroy, and Teri Montgomery of Gilroy. She was a native of Akron, OH. Kathy worked as a bookkeeper for the Gilroy Dispatch for 11 years.

Joan Vargas

Joan Vargas (born Joan Shirley Woida) beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on June 20th after a year and a half long battle against ovarian cancer. Joan was a kind person who spent every day of her life caring about other people while doing whatever she could to help them though their daily struggles. Throughout her life she was very active in fund raising for various charitable organizations. Every day she spent her time trying to make this world a better place for everyone and everything living in it. She was a pillar of spiritual strength and an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was know as "Mamma Joan" by the friends of her children and was a consummate nurturer to both kids and adults alike. She had a passion for horses and country music, deriving equal pleasure from both. She was a talented writer with an amazing creative spirit that brought laughter and joy to the lives of everyone who came into contact with her.

Werner (Wayne) S. Wengert

Werner (Wayne) Wengert, 72, of Loveland died at 1:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital.

Aurora C. Torres

Aurora C. Torres passed away in Hollister at the age of 88 years. Aurora was a native of San Bernardino, CA and has resided in Hollister with her family for he last 10 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a homemaker all her adult life. Her interests were cooking, sewing, listening to music, and watching the boxing matches and soccer games from Mexico on television. She was the spouse of the late Aurelio Torres. Surviving are her sisters; Marina C. Sandoval of Hollister and Rosie Hermosillo of Escondido, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday at Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St., Hollister, from 12 Noon until 8:00 P.M., with the rosary offered at 7:00 P.M.. Family and friends will leave the mortuary Monday morning at 9:45 A.M. for a Mass Of Resurrection at 10:30 A.M. at the Old Mission San Juan Bautista. Interment, San Juan District Cemetery.

Lorraine Lorimer

Lorraine passed away peacefully at home with her loving daughters by her side. She leaves a legacy of family memories that will last forever. Lorraine was born in Woodland, CA. Her love of horses began at Mills College under the supervision of Cornelia Cress. She married John Harris, who was a Captain in the Marine Corps. They had two daughters. Her second husband, John Robert Lorimer, operated the Oakland Riding Academy, a public riding stable, for many years. They had two daughters. They divorced and she moved south to Morgan Hill where she managed a large horse operation. She then moved to Pleasanton, where she ran her own stable, Windmill Ranch, for ten years. She then moved back to Morgan Hill where she managed a private family ranch until her death. Lorraine is survived by her daughters; Linda Hough, Margaret Hopkins, Irene Randall and Celia Gamble, beloved grandchildren; Christina Benjamin, Lauren Hough, Heather Randall, Sean Randall, John Gamble and Tyler Gamble; beautiful great-grandchildren; Jack Benjamin and Allison Lorraine Benjamin.
