Lawrence Peter Masini

Lawrence Masini, age 56, of Seaside. CA, former native of Gilroy, CA, passed away on June 12th. He attended Gilroy High School and Gavilan College. He is the husband of Kimberly Masini of Seaside. He was a retired Electrical Engineer. He is the son of the late Domenic and Thelma Masini of Gilroy, the father of Tara Casey of Tacoma, WA, and the grandfather of Christopher and Cody Casey of Tacoma, WA. A memorial service is scheduled for July 7, 2007, for more information contact Gloria at (831)394-6604. Services have been entrusted to Seaside Funeral Home.

John Glass

John Glass, 80, of Wichita, KS, died at home in Morgan Hill CA, surrounded by his beloved wife Jane of 50 years, his children; Janie, Tim, Rosemary, Tom, Joe, Margaret, and his grandchildren; Andrew, Robin, Adam, and Jack.

Pearl A. Ruiz

Pearl A. Ruiz passed away Wednesday evening at the age of 90 at the Mabie Southside Skilled Nursing Facility.

Israel Guerrero passed away in Hollister. Cremation services will be followed by interment in Jacona, Michoacan, Mexico.

Eugenia Martinez passed away June 12, 2007 in Gilroy. A Funeral Mass will be said at 11 A.M. Thursday, June 14, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Gilroy. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hollister. Arrangements by Habing Family Funeral Home.

Prisciliano O. Sanchez

Prisciliano Ovando Sanchez was born in the small town of Tepuxtepec, Michoacan, Mexico, on November 24, 1922. Amidst a world of wars, the great depression, and dreams of grandeur, he decided to leave his most beloved mother Antonia in 1943 for a life of opportunity in the United States. Little did he know that he would soon meet a fair skinned beauty in Gilroy that would capture his heart for over five decades a few short years later. He entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 11, 2007 after a courageous battle with Lymphoma. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. Prisciliano, or Pete to those who knew him, was a retired mechanic of 20 years at Gilroy Foods, and a member of the Teamsters Union, local #890.

Tom S. Mattart

Tom S. Mattart passed away after a short illness on June 10, 2007 in Gilroy. He was 94. He is survived by his wife Joyce Vieira Mattart of Gilroy, his niece Susan (Stuart) Mattart Smith of Salinas, stepfather of Richard Katen of San Juan Bautista and Robert Katen of Montana, step-grandfather of Jade, Coleman, Carson and Caleb Katen, and step-children Don, Judy, and GiGi Da Rosa. He was preceded in death by his daughter Judy, "The Lumber Lady" Mattart . Mr. Mattart was a Salinas resident for over 90 years; as a rancher he raised and trained quarter horses including " Lucky Blanton", a famous quarter horse. He moved to Gilroy in 2004. He was a member of the Cattleman's Association, a gold card holder of the Professional Rodeo Association, and longtime director of the Salinas California Rodeo.

Patricia C. Davis

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Dianne Davis, (Victor Lozano), as well as her grandchildren; Tyler and Aaron Reyes. A memorial service will be held at 4 P.M. Saturday, June 16th, at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 Fourth St., Gilroy.

Rigoberto Hernandez Granados passed away in Gilroy. Visitation: Wed., June 13th, from 12:00 noon until 9:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Rosary: 7:00 P.M. Mass: Thurs., June 14th, at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.

Jorge Gonzales

Jorge Gonzales passed away in Salinas. A celebration of his life will be on Thurs. June 14, 2007 at the home of Maria Gonzales, 555 "B" Street in Hollister at 2:30 P.M. Cremation will be followed by private family inurnment.
